 About the Cover: On the Last Sunday of the Church Year, we turn to the Last Day when the Lord will bring to completion all things. This is not the day of dread, however. It is the day that we long for with eager anticipation. It is the sight all will behold as our crucified and risen Lord and King comes in glory. Every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11). As Martin Luther said in his explanation of the Third Article, “On the Last Day He will raise me and all the dead and give eternal life to me and all believers in Christ.”
